This is a picture of my brother taken inside. I have no idea why it turned out like this, but I think it's really cool. I'd like to think it's some spiritual energy, but most likely it's just some effect of the flash =)

I've really enjoyed the pictures posted here, and thought I would begin sharing some of my own. Here is a picture I took a couple of months ago of the top of a bookshelf in my bedroom. I like the way the light gives the scene an ethereal feel. I also now realize that the combination of she and the lucky bamboo may represent some of my own east/west spiritual values. I hope you like it =) Current Mood: determined

I am an Asssitant Scoutmaster for my Boy Scout Troop. The past few years we've volunteered to help staff the Webelos Woods event that goes on at the camp that I grew up at. This year our guys built and manned one of the monkey bridges. While they were working, I took a walk to one of my favorite places, and took the time to play around a bit with the color settings on my camera (Canon Powershot A520). I know it's not the best camera in the world, but I've gotten some decent results with it.( PicturesCollapse )
I wish I had a tripod. I really need to get one (it's on my christmas list). My hands aren't that steady, so I lose a lot of good shots.
I decided that the black and white pictures of the pump were just too busy and needed the color for everything to stand out. The contrast was nice with the flat light that I had. I just wish my hand was more steady.
Comments and criticism engouraged.

That's my son. He swims during hurricanes.
This was the little bit of Ernesto that hit southern New Jersey.
This picture was taken at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I was very happy there was little blur. If only there had been more light.

Hi all. I'm new here to the community as well as photography.
It's been suggested to me to print and sell some of my pictures and I was hoping to get some input as to whether or not they'd be worth selling. Let me know if you see any that you'd deem "sale worthy" and any changes you might make to them to make them such.( Be gentleCollapse )

Because my Canon is not in service, here are some cellphone shots.
This is the left side of the Brooklyn Museum.
This is the fountain at Grand Army Plaza. It finally works. When I was in high school we called it The Kingdom. It was a spot that people came to smoke weed. So every time I smell weed I say, "I smell The Kingdom!" Most people do not know what the hell I'm talking about. Most people don't know what the hell I'm talking about no matter what I say, though.
Some snaps from around Stratford-upon-Avon in England.
It's Shakespeare's birthplace and hometown, so yes. ^^ That's why I went.( And more! [+6]Collapse )

I haven't posted here for... ages, because I just hadn't photographed anything of any interest. Or the photos I took were less than adequate. However I was looking into our back garden a couple of days ago, and happened to see this cloud formation that I thought was pretty cool (I thought it looked like we had snow covered mountains out back... we don't), so I took a pic with my new phone/digicam. So here it is!

Need another put-in-the-camera-image-holder-memory-thingy
Because I cannot bring myself to delete any picture, ever. Here are a few oldies.
Lower Manhattan from the Brooklyn Promenade.
Hold your tongue and say, "I was born on a pirate ship."
It's out of focus but I love the colors and shapes. And it's a store window. I like store windows.

Argh, there's nature all around me, get it off!
Photos from our trip on the lakes Sunday:
Some Brown Bird (never seen one of these before, suspect it's a juvenile ibis?)
A female cardinal:
Mama and baby duckies:
A gator, as seen from a safe distance:
An osprey flying overhead:
Himself and MY self enjoying a picnic on the shore of the lake, surrounded by NATURE!

I created this montage for a thread over on Unaboard. But I thought here was a good place to post it, too.
